STUDENT AWARDS

AMTA presently awards six annual scholarships.

Piano Awards - the winner is chosen from those competing at the Spring State Precollege  Piano Auditions in the following categories:

  1. The Ida Truss Scholarship of $200.00 is for the outstanding piano performance by a student who is in the 11th grade at the time of the State Auditions.
  2. The Louise McAllister Scholarship of $200.00 is for the outstanding piano performance by a student who is in the 12th grade at the time of the State Auditions.
  3. The Dorothy and Kelcey Trotter Scholarship of $100.00 is for the outstanding piano performance by an undergraduate student in the College Solo Piano Auditions.

String Awards - the winners are chosen from those competing at the Spring State Auditions in the following categories:

  1. The Henry Barrett Scholarship of $200.00 is presented to the outstanding performer in the Division III Precollege String Auditions.

Woodwinds, Brass, or Percussion - one winner is chosen from those competing at the Spring State Auditions in the following category:

  1. An award of $100.00 is given to the outstanding performer in the Division III State Woodwind, Brass, or Percussion auditions.
