President's Message
Dear
Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to serve as the 2008-2010 President of the Alabama
Music Teachers Association. I believe we are a vibrant, relevant
organization, and I look forward to continuing to develop and
support our existing programs, while working to foster new ideas to
better serve our members and their students. I encourage each of you
to explore the many opportunities we offer, which range from our
annual conference to our college and pre-college auditions. As you
explore our website, please do not hesitate to contact me if you
have any questions or concerns. Additionally, I encourage you to
share your ideas about how AMTA can better serve you. Your feedback
is invaluable when our board meets to discuss the direction of our
organization each year. Also, I encourage each of you as music
educators to constantly seek unique opportunities to promote the
important cause of music within your communities to ensure that the
rich legacy we share as professional musicians will continue to be
passed to future generations.
Also, please visit the MTNA website (www.mtna.org)
regularly. Our national office works tirelessly to create more
opportunities for all MTNA members. MTNA’s website currently offers
information on competitions, insurance programs, legal services,
multiple databases of resources, topical discussion boards, the
national conference, as well as a professional support hotline, and
this list is far from exhaustive. Maximize the benefits of your
membership by examining what MTNA offers that might be of service to
you and your studio.
Sincerely,
Kevin Chance
